Made from the leaves of the Agave plant and related to the Cactus, Sisal is stronger and more durable than most other natural fibers. After extracting the Sisal fibres by crushing the pulpy leaf, the fibres are washed, dried and carefully graded before being spun into yarn. Known for its great durability and clever way of not trapping dust, Sisal does not create any static and is fast becoming the preferred fabric for carpets and rugs.
Because Sisal naturally comes in an off-white hue, the fabric is dyed with vegetable dye so that it can be available in a variety of attractive colours.
Sisal carpets and wall coverings have been widely used for decades. It makes for a perfect rug in your home or office. Our range of Sisal is the biggest in our collection with various colours and weaves. Depending on the weaves, certain Sisals will feel softer underfoot than others. While Sisal is recommended for most areas in your home, it is not suitable for bathrooms and kitchens.
